To be clear, we NEVER collect or use your location in any of our apps.
Information Collection and Use
Location Permissions
The 2-Wire Panel Setup app and 2-Wire Events apps request access to either Android’s ‘Background Location Permission’ or ‘Coarse Location Permission’, depending on your Android version. Whilst we are required to request this permission for the app to function, we NEVER collect, store, or use your location information. This is a technical requirement imposed by Google on all apps that need to perform Bluetooth Device Discovery. Our apps require Android’s ‘Coarse Location Permission’ on devices running Android 6.0 onwards. ‘Background Location Permission’ is required on devices running Android 10.0 onwards. This is a technical requirement as it is technically possible to determine a user’s precise location by analysing Bluetooth devices found during Bluetooth Discovery (e.g., Bluetooth Location Beacons). International Gas Detectors Ltd only use Bluetooth Discovery to search for 2-Wire equipment and present any devices to the user in order for them to connect to and perform service functions. This data is NEVER stored or transmitted in any way.
Engineer ID
When using the 2-Wire Panel Setup or 2-Wire Service Tool apps you have an option to set an Engineer ID that is included in any reports that are subsequently generated by the app. This ID is in a numeric format, and it is up to you as a user to decide whether to use this feature, and if so, how to manage the IDs. If the ID is not set, reports will output ‘0’ in the Engineer ID field of any reports. In the case of personnel contracted by International Gas Detectors Ltd, we may assign an ID to said personnel for audit purposes. In this case it would be possible for us to identify who carried out the service work and generated the report.
Personal Data
We do not collect or store any personal information in any way or for any purposes, including any data for marketing or advertising purposes.
Third Party Services
Our apps do not use third party services that may collect information used to identify you.
Log Data
Our apps do not collect any log data. Error reports are automatically collected by Google and presented to us in a completely anonymous format. This information informs us of the device make, model and Android version used and a rough time of the error, how many times the error has occurred, and where in the software the error occurred. This information is only used to identify and address otherwise unreported errors in our apps.
Cookies
Our apps do not collect or use cookies in any way.
