America, meet Michael Coleman; the newest member of the IGD family and our new Gas Detection Consultant for the US.
Hailing from upstate New York and currently living in Atlanta, Michael brings decades of experience in the industrial safety market to the table and for much of that time, his focus has been on addressable gas detection. Seeing as IGD is the home of 2-Wire Addressable gas detection, Michael was a perfect fit.
Michael has been involved in the world of industrial safety in virtually every capacity. From territory sales to technical field training, support, internal management and national sales management, he’s done it all and his reputation for quality has seen him apply his business acumen in all 50 states. I suppose what we’re trying to say, is that there is no one better placed to act as the vanguard for IGD’s expansion into The United States.

I have a deep respect for all dedicated safety professionals and the tireless work that they do in protecting personnel, employees, consultants, and the at-risk public. That’s why I brought my services to IGD. I have the same respect (and admiration) for companies such as ours who’ve made it their unyielding mission to provide cutting edge technology, like our 2-Wire Addressable gas detection, in order to allow safety professionals to seamlessly continue doing what they do best – protecting lives.
Ours is not only a worthy mission, but also a deeply admirable cause. We literally save thousands of lives every single year, and the best part is, most people don’t even realise. I am honoured to be part of a great team and look forward to playing a central role in our companies growth in the USA.
The 2-Wire Addressable Gas Detection Revolution
We invented addressable gas detection in the late 1990’s. Addressable gas detection marked a turning point in the industry, so its widespread market adoption came as no surprise.
We’ve come a long way since then. Innovation is at the heart of everything we do and as a result, we have since progressed to our third generation of addressable technology; our fastest, most accurate and most efficient version to date.
Currently, the market standard is 4-wire addressable. While 4-wire systems represented the cutting edge of gas detection in the 90s, with the benefit of hindsight, we can admit that it was far from perfect. The easiest way to improve safety is by limiting the room for human error. By taking 2 wires out of the equation and introducing polarity-independent cables, we’ve ensured that the installation and upgrading of our products is virtually foolproof.
Our addressable systems are supported by our Sentinel+™ digital communication software and can accommodate cloud-based data acquisition, remote monitoring, and full event monitoring.
This is 2-Wire Addressable gas detection – an IGD-exclusive, future-proof system, and the best way of keeping you and your personnel safe. It’s not only twice as simple, and therefore twice as safe; for obvious reasons, using a system with half the cabling requirements is also twice as cheap. 2-Wire addressable technology saves seconds, and when it comes to gases, seconds save lives.
